OPTION ONE:  FULL CLOUD VOIP PHONE SYSTEM CONFIGURATION

With the Cloud (hosted) VoIP Phone System Solution there is no traditional phone company that is a part of the phone system and service solution. The public internet provides the connectivity to a cloud telephone system solution (ServiceMark Telecom offers Univerge Blue Cloud Services by NEC). The features and programming of the telephone system applications also reside in the “cloud”. There is no on-premise business telephone system that resides in the customer’s building. In this scenario, hardware on the customer’s premises is limited to a Router/Firewall, data switch(es), and VoIP phones.

For a successful deployment, it’s important to address points of failure that can cause poor phone quality and internet security breaches.

OPTION TWO:  HYBRID On-premise traditional VOIP (cloud hosted) PHONE SYSTEM CONFIGURATION

Due to the reliability of some internet connections, it is now commonplace to install an On-Premise VoIP Phone System that is connected to VoIP “SIP Trunks”. With this configuration there is no traditional phone company that is a part of the phone system and service solution. The public internet provides the connectivity to “SIP Trunks” (in our case, ServiceMark provides "SIP Trunks" through it's NEC Cloud Services). The phone system features and programming reside in the VoIP Business Telephone System that is located on the customer’s premises (commonly referred to as an on-premise VoIP phone system).

For a successful deployment, it’s important to address points of failure that can cause poor phone quality and internet security breaches.

OPTION THREE: ON-PREMISE TRADITIONAL VOIP PHONE SYSTEM CONFIGURATION

In this configuration, the solution involves a Voice/Data Provider. The names associated with Voice/Data providers include big traditional phone companies like AT&T, Consolidated Communications, Windstream, Spectrum, and CenturyLink. These well-known phone companies provide telephone service utilizing VoIP technology via “SIP Trunks”, which interface with a VoIP telephone system with features and functionality that reside “on-premise” on the company’s data network. A VoIP phone that is connected to a data jack, flows through a data switch, through the Voice/Data Provider’s Hardware, through the Voice/Data Provider’s Network, and out to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) to complete the phone call.

For a successful deployment, it’s important to address points of failure that can cause poor phone quality and internet security breaches.
