NEC Unified Communications (UC) Suite – How Unified Communications works with Microsoft Outlook
Using the NEC Unified Communications (UC) Suite that is integrated with the NEC Univerge SV9100 Telephone Communications Solution
The Unified Communications Suite helps you simplify the way you communicate. It integrates with Microsoft Outlook which enables you to:
• Call a Contact directly out of Microsoft Outlook
• Add numbers to speed dial from your Outlook Contacts
• Schedule your Presence for Unified Communications while scheduling your upcoming meetings
Please note: The Unified Communications Suite must be open to access these features.
How to Call a Contact Directly out of Microsoft Outlook
• To call a contact directly out of Microsoft outlook
• In your Microsoft Outlook Go to your Contacts or People Tab
• Find the contact you wish to call
• Right Click on the contact and Choose NEC UC Suite from the dropdown menu, select NEC Call, and it will go off hook and start dialing
• Please note if you have multiple numbers for a particular contact, you may have to choose from the list
How to add numbers to speed dial from your Outlook Contacts
• To add a contact to speed dial using a Microsoft Outlook contact: Log into your Microsoft outlook and go to your Contacts or People Tab
• Find the contact you wish to add and right click on Contact
• Choose NEC UC Suite from the dropdown and Add to Speed Dial
• This contact is now in your Personal Speed dial and you can Call them from Unified Communications with one click
How to Schedule your Presence for Unified Communications while scheduling your upcoming meetings
• To schedule your presence while scheduling a meeting in Outlook:
• Start by going to your Calendar in outlook
• Click on New Appointment, this is usually in the upper left hand corner
•Fill in your appointment details as usual and once complete go to NEC Set Presence
• Set Presence as desired
• Phone setting
• Voicemail Greeting
• And you may choose to apply a different presence once your appointment is over. Click Ok once complete.
• Your presence is now scheduled with your meeting
