NEC Business Phone Systems - How to Change Intercom Call Settings
NOTE: The instructions below apply to NEC DT800 IP Phones and NEC DT400 Digital Phones on the NEC SV9100 telephone system with InMail as well as NEC DT700 IP Phones and NEC DT300 Digital Phones on the NEC SV8100 Phone System.
Intercom call settings effect when other co-workers call you from phone to phone. You can either have your phones ring or be hands free when a co-worker calls you.
Steps for changing intercom call settings: Ring Mode
- To set your phone to ringing operation dial 723, you will hear conformation tones and see “signaling” in your display.
- Press the speaker phone button to hang up.
- Now when a co-worker calls you, your phone will ring, you will know which co-worker is calling and you and you can lift the handset to speak with them.
Steps for changing intercom call settings: Hands-Free Mode
- To set your phone to hands-free operation, dial 721, you will hear confirmation tones and see “voice call” in your display.
- Press the speaker phone button to hang up.
- Now when a co-worker calls you, your phone will beep and will automatically enable your speaker phone so you can simply speak back to them hands-free.
To go back to a ringing mode, dial 723, you will hear a conformation tone and see “signaling” in the display. Press the speaker key to hang up and now you are back to normal ring mode.
