Federal law now requires that assisted living and long-term care facilities meet the phone system requirements for contacting emergency services and providing the specific locations of those in need to first responders.

  • The ability to dial '911' directly without a “dial out” access code or interception by a call answering facility.
  • Notification to on-site staff if a 911 call is made from their facility phone system.
  • Dispatchable location for first responders


By law senior care and assisted living care facilities are required to Protect residents by ensuring that they are always able to reach emergency services.
