NEC Business Phone System – How to Adjust the Volume on the Telephone

NOTE:  The instructions below apply to NEC DT800 IP Phones and NEC DT400 Digital Phones on the NEC SV9100 telephone system with InMail as well as NEC DT700 IP Phones and NEC DT300 Digital Phones on the NEC SV8100 Phone System. 

Steps to adjusting the volume on the speaker of the telephone:
  • Press speaker button
  • Press the up or down arrows on toggle pad to adjust speaker volume.
  • Press speaker button to hang up and speaker volume will be set.

Steps to adjusting the volume on the telephone handset:
  • Lift handset
  • Press the up or down arrows on toggle pad to adjust handset volume.
  • Hang up and handset volume will be set.

Steps to adjusting the ring volume on the telephone:
  • While phone is ringing, press the up or down arrows on toggle pad to adjust ring volume.
  • To make phone ring, dial “729” and press the up or down arrows on toggle pad to adjust ring volume.
  • Press speaker button to hang up and ring volume will be set.
