NEC Business Phone System - How to Transfer a Call Directly To Voicemail

NOTE:  The instructions below apply to NEC DT800 IP Phones and NEC DT400 Digital Phones on the NEC SV9100 telephone system with InMail as well as NEC DT700 IP Phones and NEC DT300 Digital Phones on the NEC SV8100 Phone System. 

If a co-worker is on a call or not available, you can transfer a new caller directly into their voice mailbox.

Steps for transferring a call directly to voicemail with a hotline key:
  • While on the line with the outside caller…
  • Press the Transfer key
  • Press the Voice Message or VMsg soft key
  • Locate and press the hotline key for the co-worker you want to receive the call and hang up to transfer the call to their voice mailbox.

Steps to transferring a call directly to voicemail without a hotline key:
  • While on the line with the outside caller…
  • Press the Transfer key
  • Press the Voice Message or VMsg soft key
  • Dial the extension number for the co-worker you want to receive the call and hang up to transfer the call to their voice mailbox.
