NEC Business Phone System – How to Turn Auto-Attendant System Override Greeting On and Off
NOTE: The instructions below apply to NEC DT800 IP Phones and NEC DT400 Digital Phones on the NEC SV9100 telephone system with InMail as well as NEC DT700 IP Phones and NEC DT300 Digital Phones on the NEC SV8100 Phone System.
*System Administrator Privileges are required to access Attendant System Override
Auto Attendant System Override Greeting is a feature that is helpful when you want to override your general Day and Night auto-attendant greeting for emergency, holiday, inclement weather or other situations.
Steps to turn on/off auto-attendant system override greeting:
- Call your mailbox by pressing the VMsg soft key
- Enter security code
- Press the More soft key and press Mgr soft key OR dial “72” for system administration menu.
*Please note – must be set up as a system administrator to access administrator menu
- Select More soft key and select Sched soft key OR dial “6” which stands for override
- System will ask for table number, always enter “01”
- Voicemail system will now display and inform you that the override mailbox is “Off”
- To turn the override mailbox ON, press On soft key or press “6”
- Optional: To choose which auto-attendant system override greeting is active press the Mbox soft key or dial “2”.
- Enter appropriate override mailbox number
- Hang up and now the desired auto-attendant system override greeting is set
Steps to turn off auto attendant system override greeting
- Follow steps 1 through 6
- Once in Override Screen select “Off” or press “6” for off
- Hang up and the Day and Night general auto-attendant greetings will be enabled once again
